Frequently Asked Questions
How easy are the cookery recipes?
Each recipe includes a list of ingredients and required utensils. The recipe lists each step to guide students through the preparation of the food. The instructions also provide handy tips. We have carefully devised each recipe so that they can be completed by students of all ages and levels of experience. Younger children will require supervision.
What recipes are included in each cookery course?
We vary the recipes in each course from time to time, so don’t publish the full list of recipes in advance. Each recipe has a vegetarian option. Some examples of the recipes on the cookery course include Greek Spaghetti, Chicken Stir Fry, Falafel Wraps, Apple Crumble, Victoria Sponge. Examples from the baking course include Cheese Drop Biscuits, Fruit Muffins, Cherry Banana Loaf cake.
How do we receive feedback on the completion of each recipe?
The online classroom we use allows students to submit written or photographic files so that you can provide an update on how you got on with each recipe. We love to see how each student is making progress. We can offer feedback or respond to any questions you may have about each recipe.
Do you provide recipes that are suitable for vegetarian diets?
We have recipes on all of our cookery courses that include vegetarian dishes (offering a vegetarian alternative whenever a dish contains meat). We also offer a full course that only includes vegetarian dishes.
How much will the ingredients for each recipe cost?
We cannot provide the cost of ingredients for each recipe. We have devised each recipe to to be cost conscious and have, where possible, included basic ingredients that many people will already have in their cupboards or can buy from a wide range of stores.
What support is available for participants completing each course?
We provide an online classroom environment in which students ask questions or seek help with any recipe.
Do you offer in-person cookery courses?
Unfortunately, we do not offer in-person cookery courses. All courses are online and include recipes that can be prepared at home using standard utensils and kitchen appliances.
How old do you need to be to be able to make the recipes included in the cookery courses?
Our recipes are designed for ages 13 and upwards. Most recipes could also be made by children younger than this if an adult was helping and supervising, especially where the use of knives or hot appliances are required.
Once I have paid, how do I access the course content?
After you have paid for a course, you will receieve an email containing confirmation of your course payment and instructions on how to register in the online classoom. You can then start the course as soon as you like. Each course takes 3 months to complete.
Do I need a Google account to access the classroom?

How do I prove that I have completed each recipe?
Students can upload photos of their completed recipe using the online Google Classroom page.
